| About Our Church and Our Ministry Baptist Faith and Message |
| We believe the worship of the triune God is the most important activity a person can engage in. We also believe this worship is regulated by the Word of God. Therefore we make the Bible the centerpiece of our worship service. It is our desire to teach the Scriptures verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book. We hold dear the doctrines of grace and believe the Bible teaches the absolute sovereignty of God in all things. We believe that praise is a commanded component of worship. “Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises” (Psalm 98:4 NKJV). Our praise band leads us in worship with choruses and songs. We also acknowledge the value of the great hymns of the faith. Their theology is rich and so we blend the more recent choruses with the traditional hymns in our worship. We gather to worship and we scatter to witness. We believe we are our brothers’ keeper. We are actively engaged in social outreach, through our membership, in Fauquier County. It is our desire to help those in need and spread the gospel of our Lord through our works and our witness. We believe that the missionary endeavor is commanded by our Lord (Matt 28:18-20). It is our conviction that the missionary task is for the purpose of creating true worshipers of God in places and among people where He is not worshipped. In obedience to our Lord and in obedience to his command we support the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program and individual missionaries. Our ministry partners are the Andy and Becky Messer with Worldwide New Testament Baptist Missions, Billy and Jasmine Clark with Latin American Mission and Living Bread Ministries. Andy and Becky Messer are church planting missionaries in the Ivory Coast, West Africa. Billy and Jasmine Clark are missionaries in Peru and work with children left abandoned in the streets. Living Bread Ministries take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor of Central and South America by planting evangelical churches that provide meals as their primary outreach into these communities. |
